From the desk of Richard Squire:
It is with great excitement and anticipation that I look forward to my journey with staff, students, and parents at Dilworth Elementary. I have heard many great things about the school from sources far beyond the confines of Salt Lake City and the Dilworth boundaries! What a narrative you have all created. I am excited to help perpetuate that narrative and legacy.
I have spent the last 22 years on my journey in education. I have taught in the 3 through 6th grades. I then spent 6 years as a principal in a highly impacted elementary school in central Utah. What a rich experience that was, being part of a team that truly cared about students which worked tirelessly for their success. After that I spent 8 years at Snow College as the Education Department Chair, developing the program and teaching future teachers. I spent the last year with a private education firm providing education for troubled youth. Each of these have been great learning opportunities for me. I continue to learn and grow and be excited about what we can do for children as we help them learn, grow and become their best selves.
I have been married to my wife Roxanne for 27 Years. We have four wonderful children Preston, Kate, Brinton and Canda. All of whom are still at home. Preston will be a senior in high school and Canda will be in second grade, Kate and Brinton will be in 10th and 8th grades respectively.
When we are not working, we are usually going to a basketball event of some sort with one of the kids. Occasionally we even get to relax at home.
Again, I look forward with great anticipation to my journey as a Dilworth Dragon, and to working with you all.
