It's Showtime at Dilworth!

The spotlight is shining on our 6th Grade Dilworth Dragons! It’s that exciting time of year when our halls come alive with music, creativity, and a little bit of theatrical magic! We are kicking off our annual performance season, and we couldn’t be more proud of the hard work, talent, and confidence our students bring to the stage.

Our sixth graders are ready to kick off the Dilworth music program season this Thursday! They have been working so hard to prepare, and we can’t wait to see all their practice and dedication come to life in their performance.
  • School performance: Thursday at 2:15 p.m.
  • Parent performance: Friday at 9:15 a.m.
We are so proud of these students and look forward to celebrating their hard work with our Dilworth community!

Our performance season is about so much more than putting on a show. It’s about building confidence, finding your voice, working as a team, and celebrating the arts as an essential part of a well-rounded education. From our grade-level performances to our fifth-grade Shakespeare production, these experiences are a special part of what makes Dilworth unique. We are proud to offer our Dragons opportunities to shine, both in and out of the classroom. These traditions are something special, and we are excited to share the magic with our families!

Let the show begin, Dilworth Dragons!

Game Club
Culture Club has been a lot of fun as an optional activity that students in 4th - 6th grade can participate in during lunch recess. I am getting ready to start another recess group: Game Club. Once a week, students in 4th - 6th grades will have the option to spend recess in my room playing games rather than going outside for recess. If you do NOT want your child to participate in Game Club, please let me know.

School Safety: Working Together to Keep Our Dragons Safe

The safety of our students and staff is our top priority at Dilworth Elementary. Creating a safe and welcoming learning environment takes all of us working together. Please take a moment to review the three important safety guidelines below regarding morning arrival and afternoon pickup, visitors in the building, and drop off and pick-up safety. Also, please review the parking maps for the North and South Parking Lots. Following these procedures helps us maintain a secure building, ensure students are supervised, and provide a safe environment where every Dragon can learn and thrive.

Morning Arrival and Afternoon Pick-up Reminders

  • Students may not enter the building before 8:40 AM., unless they are attending a supervised activity or entering through the breakfast doors. Breakfast begins at 8:25 AM.
  • Outside supervision begins at 8:30 AM., and students should go directly to the back field to line up with their teacher.
  • In the afternoon, please be sure students are picked up by 3:15 PM., as supervision is not available after that time.

Drop Off and Pickup-Safety First

It is highly recommended to use the church parking lot across the street from the school as we have a very reliable crossing guard to help the students cross the street. Additionally, the South Parking Lot allows kids to safety cross with our Safety Patrol students. For your convenience, we will station Mr. Folsom at the First-Grade back doors until 8:50 am to allow later arrivals to enter the school. He will open the doors for the late students. Please do not drop off students at the front door until after 8:45 am.

Visitors in the Building Entry Procedures for Visitors

  • Ring the doorbell; a staff member will greet you and invite you to the front desk.
  • Check in at the front office upon arrival.
  • If you are volunteering, please sign in using the volunteer system at the front desk and print a volunteer badge. This system was updated last year and is fully operational.
  • If you are checking your student out, be sure to sign the log and record the time your child leaves the building.

Accessing School Calendars

We’ve got some great news: school calendars for the next three school years were just approved at tonight’s Board of Education meeting! School calendars for the following school years are now available on the district website:

  • 2026-27
  • 2027-28
  • 2028-29
To find the printable calendars in English, click on the “Calendars” tab at the top of the homepage, scroll down to “Printable Calendars,” and click on the year you want to see. (We will have PDFs available soon in other languages spoken by SLCSD families and will send another email once those translations have been uploaded.)
